In Mystetskyi Arsenal National Cultural-Arts and Museum Complex, the head of state together with representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, and diplomatic institutions attended the premiere of Hirka Zoria (The Bitter Dawn) oratorio coming as a mix of Polissia folk songs and poems of Ukrainian poets. The performance was complemented by documentary stills of people's life before the disaster, followed by chronicles of evacuation and liquidation of the consequences of the tragedy.
The authors of the musical composition also employed the creative genius of Ukrainian artist Mariia Prymachenko, who lived her entire life in Polissia. In particular, they demonstrated a painting devoted to her nephew Valerii Khodemchuk - an operator of the plant's forth unit - who died in the tragic explosion.
Tomorrow, Poroshenko will honor the memory of Chornobyl liquidators and victims and take part in other activities on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the catastrophe.
