The Russian military command has promoted several officers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation who participated in the confrontation in the occupied Donbas.

In particular, Major-General Sergey Kuzovlev, who commanded the "2nd Army Corps" (Luhansk) between fall 2014 and spring 2015, has been promoted to the commander of the 20th Army (Voronezh) of the Western Military District of the Russian Federation Armed Forces.

Major-General Oleg Tsekov, who was in command of the "2nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade" (Luhansk) of the "2nd Army Corps" (Luhansk), has been promoted to commander of the 4th Armored Division of the 1st Panzer Army (Bakovka / Odintsovo, Moscow oblast) of the Western military District of the Russian Armed Forces. "Major-General" received his new title for participation in the Russia's armed aggression in the Donbas on Feb. 21, 2015.
