Savchenko irrevocably refused to appeal verdict: "There is no point to it". STATEMENT

People's deputy of Ukraine Nadiia Savchenko, sentenced in Russia to 22 years in prison, refused to appeal the decision of the Donetsk City Court (the Rostov region of the Russian Federation).

Savchenko's lawyer Mark Feigin has posted a correspondent statement by her on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"We've just seen Nadiia in the remand prison No. 3. She refused to appeal. There is no fair trial in Russia, it's a waste of time," he wrote.

"I, Nadiia Savchenko, made the final decision not to appeal against the verdict of the Donetsk City Court in my case as there is no point to it, as I do not recognize the legitimacy and fairness of the sentence passed against me," Savchenko wrote.
