In Kyiv, Free Savchenko rally participants marched from the building of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry to the Russian embassy. A few hundred people took part in the event - MPs, cultural figures, and citizens, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainska Pravda.
Several camo-clad men brought tires at the building of the Russian embassy in Kyiv. The police immediately cordoned off the tires, while those who brought them moved away from the main entrance, UNIAN reports. After that, the unknown men and participants of the rally had a dispute about the appropriateness of possible radical actions. A bit later, the men left the area outside the embassy, got in a car with the Azov logo, and drove away.
At the moment, a few rally participants stay near the embassy, as well as law enforcers, some of them guarding the tires.
Another Free Savchenko rally took place outside the Embassy of the EU Delegation to Ukraine. The participants demanded that the European Union introduce personal sanctions against certain Russian citizens and those involved in the trial against Savchenko.
In Lviv, activists came to the General Consulate of the Russian Federation, hromadske.lviv informs.
As reported by BBC Ukraine, a Free Savchenko protest took place near the Russian embassy in West London.
Activists were chanting "Freedom to Savchenko!", "Crimea is Ukraine!", and singing the famous song about Putin every now and then.
Ukrainian activists are also planning similar rally outside the British Parliament on Tuesday and Wednesday.
At the same time, near Paveletskaya metro station in Moscow, the police have detained activist Vladimir Shreidler for taking part in a one-man picket in support of Savchenko, OVD-Info reports. Shreidler is faced with arrest under article 19.3 of the Administrative Code (disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer).
In a Free Savchenko rally near Mayakovskaya metro station, some 20 people have been apprehended. The arrests are underway.
