The enemy committed 81 attacks on Ukrainian army positions - a record number since the end of August 2015. Militants also employed heavy weapons 12 times. This was announced by Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO matters Andrii Lysenko at a daily briefing, Censor.NET informs.
The Luhansk direction: Here, the situation remains absolutely calm. During the last day, not a single case of cease-fire violation by illegal armed groups was recorded.
The Donetsk direction: Active hostilities are registered along the entire front line. The hottest spots are Zaitseve and Maiorsk, where more than 160 mortar rounds were fired on our positions yesterday. Occupants employ small arms and grenade launchers both in the dark hours and in the daytime. Such an activity proves the decision to close Zaitseve checkpoint was correct.
It's tense near the Donetsk airport and Svitlodarsk salient. However, despite these provocations, the front line remains stable, while the enemy has no chance to move forward.
The Mariupol direction: The situation is strained here. In Marinka, the enemy repeatedly fired grenade launchers from the direction of Trudove village, seriously wounding a civilian.
In the area of Hnutove-Talakivka, terrorists delivered three mortar strikes against the ATO forces positions.
In addition, last night Ukrainian border guards detected an enemy subversive group consisting of five persons, which tried to penetrate our positions near Pyshchevyk. Thanks to coordinated interaction of border guards and military personnel, the saboteurs were forced to retreat, carrying the wounded.
