Elbrus District Administration spokesperson Alisa Tarim said, Censor.NET reports citing TASS.
"12 people were injured as the bus went off the road. Four of them were provided medical assistance on the spot. Eight victims have been taken to a hospital. Their condition is moderately grave," the agency interlocutor said.
According to her, residents of several regions of Russia, including the Rostov and Samara regions, and citizens of Ukraine became victims of the accident. At the same time the deputy chief of the Elbrus mountain search and rescue team of the EMERCOM of Russia Albert Hadzhyev said that the residents of Ukraine's Luhansk region were in the tour bus.
Other officials reported of 11 victims of the accident. According to preliminary data, they were tourists from the Samara region. All the victims were reportedly taken to the central district hospital in the town of Tyrnyauz in Elbrus district.
The tourists were reportedly returning to the Elbrus camp after skiing. The driver lost control of his 45-seat Hyundai tour bus, which ran off the road and overturned.
