Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"Ivano-Frankivsk! The newly appointed commander of the National police reports about 208 new patrol officers taking an oath to Ukrainian people. Swearing to serve and protect! The new patrol starts working today in the evening. What a wonderful day for all of us," Avakov wrote.
At the same time, he expressed confidence that the Ivano-Frankivsk patrol police will be one of the best in the country.

"The selection was the most severe. Only the best have passed the tests. Judge for yourself, only one candidate in 25 was successful," the minister added
According to Avakov, 28 percent of the new police officers are women. 86 percent of the new officers have higher education. There are also 25 ATO participants in Ivano-Frankivsk National police (among them is Iryna Soldak who, together with her husband, fought in the ATO area).
"Lieutenant Dmytro Mykhalets has headed the city police department. 206 centimeters tall, he became the highest patrolman in Ukraine. I know him personally as an excellent officer, well-proven in service!," Avakov wrote.

Ivano-Frankivsk became the 11th city where the new patrol police came into operation. Kherson, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Kremenchuk, Cherkasy, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Chernivtsi, Rivne, Boryspil, Zaporizhia, Ternopil, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Kirovohrad, Kryvyi Rih, Siverodonetsk, Mariupol and Sumy are to follow. The total of 16,000 new police officers are expected to patrol Ukrainian cities this May.
