In particular, the residents of Kryvyi Rih are holding banners reading: "We have an old dragon instead of mayor! Please, sign the law!", "Enter your retirement, Dear Sir - you have stolen enough being our "Strong Mayor!", "Mr. Guarantor, how much money have you made of Kryvyi Rih?", " Strong decisions for Kryvyi Rih," etc. ...
They also chant "Down with Vilkul!"
It should be reminded that Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Hroisman promised yesterday, Jan. 25 that the parliament would give priority to reelection of the mayor of Kryvyi Rih Jan. 26.
"It is a pity that people are suffering, exposing their health to danger to secure the process that is inevitable anyway. My personal communication with people persuaded me that they were underinformed by the MPs on the procedure and reasons impeding the Verkhovna Rada Chairman to sign this law. But I think that we will consider this issue tomorrow - it is first on the agenda. This would mean that the Verkhovna Rada Chairman will have the opportunity to sign this law. I will act according to the law," the chairman said.
It should be reminded that Dec. 23, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the bill ruling to hold early mayoral election in Kryvyi Rih March 27.
Later, Speaker Volodymyr Hroisman said that he would sign the law on election in Kryvyi Rih after receiving the conclusions of the relevant committee, as the Opposition bloc had filed a petition on breach of order.
