This is announced by Ukraine's PM Arsenii Yatseniuk on his Facebook, Censor.NET informs.
"Today, the first experimental train enroute Ukraine-Georgia-Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan-China is leaving Illichivsk sea port. It will become the new route of the "Silk road" and an alternative for cargo transportation from Ukraine to these markets bypassing Russia," Yatseniuk said.
According to him, the launch will allow deliveries of Ukrainian goods to Middle Asia and China bypassing the Russian transit and trade embargo.
As reported, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Ukraine signed a protocol on setting competitive preferential tariffs for cargo transportation via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. The protocol was signed by Javid Gurbanov, head of Azerbaijani Railways CJSC, Askar Mamin, head of Kazakhstan Railways JSC, Mamuka Bakhtadze, head of Georgian Railway JSC, and Oleksandr Zavhorodnii, acting chairman of board of Ukrainian Railways JSC.
