The head of one of the departments of the Main Directorate of the National Guard extorted 20,000 hryvnia (about $800) from the entrepreneur engaged in repair of a building at the National Guard's base. According to the grafters, that was the price for the signing of acceptance certificates, Censor.NET reports citing the press center of the SBU.
The Lt. Col. attracted his colleague to this corrupt practice, who was personally carrying out negotiations and received the money. The security agency officers detained the military in Kyiv and in the Kirovohrad region, where the repair of the building was carried out.
The criminal proceedings under Part 3 of the Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been initiated. Urgent investigative activities to determine other possible corruption practices of the officials of the National Guard are underway.
