On Thursday, Dec. 17, an event attended by representatives of the G7 countries' embassies took place at the National Guard training ground in Novi Petrivtsi, the Kyiv region.

As reported by Censor.NET correspondent, the event was also attended by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, the Command of the National Guard, and NATO experts.

The event included a demonstration of combat exercises by military unit No. 3018.

"These exercises are the final stage of our three-week preparation course for junior commanders who will further drill their soldiers. They were trained by foreign instructors. At the same moment, the staff was being trained to analyze a task and take a decision to be performed with the help of troops," Serhii Tartakovskyi, chief of staff of the brigade involved in the exercises said.

He believes that "no matter how good our troops are, they do not fight on their own, so they need to be trained simultaneously with the staff, which is the only way to attain result."

On Thursday, the brigade took part in a counter-sabotage drill.

"Light infantry is able to perform tasks not only at war but also in a counter-terrorism operation, while maintaining its ability to operate during wartime," Tartakovskyi said.
