On Nov. 19, SSAU Chairman Liubomyr Sabadosh hosted a meeting with NASA Associate Administrator for the Human Exploration and Operations Directorate William H. Gerstenmaier.
During the meeting the parties discussed prospects of joint space projects in order to expand space cooperation between Ukraine and the U.S.
"One of the priorities of SSAU activities is the development of international cooperation. We consider participation in international space projects as an opportunity to apply existing experience and developments of Ukraine in the space industry", SSAU chairman said.
William H. Gerstenmaier noted the excelent work of Ukrainian specialists within implementation of the Antares project.
"Ukrainian specialists work professionally and we are completely satisfied with their activities. They demonstrate impressive results. We hope that fruitful cooperation between the USA and Ukraine will continue extending", the Associate NASA Administrator said.
The meeting was attended by Deputy of the Parliament of Ukraine, Member of the SSAU Board Andrii Teteruk, Director of Department for Real Economy Development of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Mykola Shcherbyna, the first Astronaut of Ukraine Leonid Kadeniuk, Director of the Main Astronomy Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Academician of the NASU Yaroslav Yatskiv, Director of the NASU-SSAU Space Research Institute Oleh Fedorov, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representative of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and the space industry experts.
The agenda of NASA delegation includes a trip to Dnipropetrovsk in order to pay visits to the leading space industry enterprises of Ukraine -- Pivdenne Design Office and Pivdenmash plant.
