By giving the Kyivites food products and expensive concert tickets, a canvasser tried to persuade voters to support the political party she represented.

In the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv, the police detained a woman who distributed bags with sweets among citizens, Censor.NET reports citing Interior Ministry department in Kyiv press service.

As reported, the canvasser represented the interests of a political party running for local government. The police and investigators arrived at the scene. They also established the persons who the representatives of the political party handed out envelopes with tickets to the concert of a musical group, costing UAH 300 (about $13.2) each. It was a "gratitude" to voters for their support of the party on the day of elections.

"The police seized tickets and five bags with "sweet bribery," questioned the participants and witnesses of the incident. Now we are identifying all persons involved in the wrongful act," Vitalii Horbachuk, interim head of Solomianskyi district police department in Kyiv, said.

Three criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 2, Art. 160 (violation of the law on the referendum) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigation is underway.
