The exhibition on the Mykhailivska Square, titled "Might of the unbroken" (Syla neskorenykh in Ukrainian - ed.), will be open for the public today after 10 a.m.
The event was attended by attaches of various diplomatic missions, as well as President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov.
The exhibition features tanks, armored vehicles, grenade launchers, sniper rifles. In the center of the Square, a glass box covers the Ukrainian flag rescued from the Donetsk airport building.
When delivering his speech, President Poroshenko noted that Ukrainians from now on would celebrate the Defender Day on Oct. 14, which is also the Orthodox Christian holiday of Pokrova (the Virgin of Mercy).
He said the exhibit was an evidence of what the Ukrainian army had achieved over the year and a half of the war. The president noted that it featured equipment of Ukrainian and foreign origin, the latter having been transferred by its international partners.
"We do not need foreign soldiers. Ukrainians have enough war skills and moral courage to repulse the aggressor," the president said, thanking Ukraine's foreign partners.
