As reported, the equipment maintenance and repair regiment in Zolochiv, Lviv region was created a year ago. Over this time, hard work has been done to build up a powerful material and technical base: workshops are almost fully equipped with all necessary equipment, professional staff with year plus repairing experience is also there with constant selection of necessary expertise being underway. At the outset of Russian aggression, the town's residents traveled to the east of the country, where they carried out tasks in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area. "They often had to work under enemy fire, repair military equipment using whatever they had handy," the Defense Ministry says.
After active hostilities ended, military technicians started receiving even more work as Ukraine's Armed Forces require resupply of armored vehicles. Carrying out this important task, Zolochiv residents embarked on a unique experiment - restoration of combat hardware together with the specialists from the Lviv Armored Plant SE at the production facilities of the plant. The repairmen got hard work - constructing fully valid combat units, using parts of tank donors. "In less than three months of joint efforts, more than 30 military vehicles have been put into operation," unit commander Colonel Yuri Prymachenko stated.
