"Armed Forces of Ukraine civil-military cooperation group headed by Lieutenant Colonel Serhii Paniuta initiated and fulfilled marking dangerous mined roadside areas in the direction of the checkpoint. As public utilities, due to certain circumstances, can not operate in this sector so far, the group addressed the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with a request for assistance.
As reported, the representatives of the organization knew about the problem and agreed to help after certain internal procedures had been dealt with.
"In particular, they placed "Stop, mines!" signs along the roadside area in the direction of Berezove checkpoint and installed 10 composting toilets along the road. Group's officers expressed their sincere gratitude to the ICRC for rendering assistance to Ukrainians in the Donbas," the staff added.
