 SBU confirms detention of Kyiv city council deputy who extorted bribe from entrepreneurs. PHOTOS

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine and the General Prosecutor's Office arrested one of the deputies of the Kyiv City Council, head of a temporary supervisory committee, together with his accomplices during receiving a bribe.

Censor.NET reports citing the SBU press-service.

The MP extorted a bribe from entrepreneurs for non-interference in their business activities.

Over 4 million hryvnia (about $174,000) in cash was seized from persons involved in the crime during searches conducted as part of the investigation.

Investigative actions are underway.
