"On June 2, at 2:50 a.m., we received a notification of an explosion at the "U Anhelovykh" restaurant at 38 Zhukovskoho St.," the message reads.
Police officers found that as a result of an explosive device detonation the doors and facade of the restaurant had been damaged with window glass in the apartments above the restaurant and in a nearby cafe shattered.
No casualties have been reported.
"An investigation group is working at the site, including explosion service specialists, figuring out the circumstances of the incident," reported in the department.
As of 8:30 a.m., it's been established the explosive device was a homemade shell-less bomb with an electric trigger. According to preliminary findings, the bomb's power was equal to 450 - 600 grams of TNT.
"A criminal proceeding has been initiated over the fact on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 1, Art. 258 (act of terrorism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to 10 years with confiscation of property or without it," the Interior Ministry added.
