"The village of Novotoshkivka is two kilometers away from the 29th checkpoint situated on Bakhmutka road. It suffered from intense militants' artillery and Grad shelling over the past few weeks. Many houses in the village were damaged, some of them were completely destroyed, and the life-supporting infrastructure was also hit. The village is currently without water and power supply. Most of the residents have left Novotoshkivka escaping the war except approximately 250 locals (there were more than 2,000 residents in peacetime). These people actually live in isolation," the statement reads.
In addition it is noted that shops are closed in Novotoshkivka. No food has been delivered for one and a half weeks, the chairman of the village has fled, there are no deputies of the local council.
"We brought here 10 tons of food and talked with people who are desperate and do not know what to do. We made lists of necessities: candles, matches, drugs, film for broken windows, bread and other products ... There are about 15 young mothers with babies in the village. They also came for the humanitarian aid. I asked the people's consent to take away the kids (together with their mothers) to other regions of Ukraine, where there are no battles. They'll have accommodation, food and education at the expense of the state. When we complete making the lists we will evacuate families with children in armored vehicles. We will return here next week and bring a new batch of aid. I regularly visited this village - it was more or less calm there two months ago, and now it is empty, the houses are ruined, the people are filled with despair. God damn this war!" Moskal wrote.
