"I previously noted that a unit of this brigade is presumably a part of the invasion force on Sep. 30, but I had no proof until now. Based on the available information and images, the rocket artillery personnel of the 439th brigade was deployed to the Rostov region near the Ukrainian border in late summer of 2014 and took part in the massive artillery bombardment of the territory of Ukraine. As of the end of October the unit was spotted in Neklinovsky district of the Rostov region of Russia (Azov Mariupol-direction). The armament of the unit includes 300 mm multiple rocket launchers Smerch with approximate composition of the battery in the amount of 4 rocket systems. It is possible that two other batteries of the brigade are located in other parts of the Russian-Ukrainian border," the blogger writes.
