As reported by Censor.NET citing the statement by the JFO press center, Naiev made a number of decisions after discussing with the servicemen the problems that must be solved to ensure the reliable defense of the Ukrainian troops’ positions.
Activist Olha Chikhelidze-Batahova later reported that Naiev visited fighters of the 25th battalion.
"Commander of the Joint Forces Operation, Lieutenant-General Naiev visited the 25th battalion. That’s right: he came to the advanced position without being accompanied by camera crews, without being heavily guarded. And he spoke not with the commanders (as usual) but with the soldiers - not with the ones that were picked in advance and brought to the headquarters but [with the ones deployed] at the forward defensive position where they live and fight. He questioned them closely about their problems and needs (I imagine how nervous the commanders felt themselves))), promised to solve them and provide assistance. The time will tell [whether he really meant it] because everyone has already got used to [hollow] promises. We are looking forward for action. According to the guys, whom he took by surprise, he is a normal human being, a simple man without flash. As for me, the beginning of the Joint Forces Operation is quite promising: they captured a prisoner, have been sending helicopters to fetch the wounded, paid a visit to advanced position. The commander personally visits the frontline and speaks to ordinary soldiers," the activist wrote on social media.
