Ilovaisk, Donetsk airport more important for Ukrainians than Russian cities: C14 activists paint over names of Russian cities in Odesa Walk of Fame. PHOTOS

Activists of C14 (also known as Sich) NGO painted names of the Donbas-based Ukrainian over the ones of the Russian hero-cities of World War II-era inscribed on the Walk of Fame in Odesa.

"We have brought the Walk of Fame up to date by replacing the names of foreign cities by the ones of the cities where heroic and tragic events of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war took place," Censor.NET reports citing the NGO’s statement on social media.

"The names of Russian hero-cities inscribed on the Walk of Fame have been replaced by DAP (Donetsk airport - Ed.), Ilovaisk, Debaltseve, Kramatorsk and Mariupol - the names that mean much more to Ukrainians than Tula or Smolensk" the statement reads.

"C14 does not challenge the Deeds and valor of the soldiers who took part in fierce battles of the World War II. But Russian cities are foreign to Ukraine. Everlasting glory to the defenders of Ukrainian soil!" C14 activists said.
