A deadly car crash that claimed lives of three foreign citizens took place in downtown Uzhhorod overnight into Monday, Feb. 12.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the statement by the Zakarpattia region police, the law enforcers received information on the traffic accident on Lva Tolstoho Street at 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 12.

"Upon arrival at the scene, the police found a Land Rover that crashed into a tree. Four persons were found inside the car. Three of them showed no signs of life while the fourth one, who stuck between the front and rear seats, was severely injured but conscious.

"The police officers called the ambulance and rescuers. The policemen managed to get the injured out of the car before the rescuers have actually arrived. He was immediately taken to a hospital," the statement reads.

The police communication department said all of the victims were foreigners. The deceased driver and two passengers were 28, 27, and 23 years old respectively. The person who survived the crash was 25.
