Children from Ocheretyne, Novobakhmutivka, Soloviove, Novokalynove, and Keramik villages get secondary education at the school, Donetsk region Governor Pavlo Zhebrivskyi wrote on social media, Censor.NET reports.
According to him, 344 children study at this school although it is designed for 1,100 pupils.
"Like other hub schools that we open throughout the Donetsk region, the school in Ocheretyne has hi tech classrooms for studying physics, chemistry, biology, geography, and informatics. There is also a portable multimedia system as well as spacious and up-to-date gyms," Zhebrivskyi said.
According to the governor, more than 38 million hryvnia was spent on the school renovation and another 6.3 million hryvnia was spent on equipment.
Zhebrivskyi says this is the ninth renovated hub school in the Donetsk region while similar ones already operate in Smarahdove Mistechko, Bylbasivka, Pokrovsk, Chasiv Yar, Druzhkivka, Hryshyne, Illinivka, and Volnovakha.
"The development of the network of innovative hub schools is one of our key tasks. It is not merely the matter of infrastructure development but rather laying a firm foundation for the development of the Ukrainian Donbas. As President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko once well said – this is no expenditures but investment in the future," he said.
