Another evidence appeared of groups from the 2nd separate brigade of special forces of the GRU of the Russian Federation, military base 64044, being involved in reconnaissance and sabotage activity at the undeclared war in the Eastern Ukraine.

This was announced by Iraklii Komakhidze on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.

"Here is a soldier from the 2nd brigade of Special Forces, Vitaliy, I would call him a "veteran" for he participated in the annexation of the Crimea, for which he has been awarded a medal with a cynical title "For The Return of Crimea".

"As judged by his photos, this is Vitaliy's second mission, at this time to the Eastern Ukraine. On the picture, Vitaliy is posing in Krasnosulinsky District, the Rostov region, close to the Ukrainian border.

"It was reported back in April of last year that subversive groups of Russian Special Forces, in particular from the 2nd special brigade, had been acting in the Eastern Ukraine.

"Note: The brigade is located near Pskov, the village of Promezhitsy. The area of responsibility of the brigade is Baltic countries and Scandinavia, though it can be used for other directions. Even their slogan reads "Anytime, Anywhere, Any tasks!"

The structure of the brigade includes three main combat units - squads (battalion) of special purpose consisting of several companies, as well as a signal company and other support units.

The brigade has fighting experience since the war in Afghanistan. Its subdivisions also participated in Caucasian wars - in Chechnya and Dagestan. During and after the Russian-Georgian war in July 2008, reconnaissance groups of the brigade carried out "combat tasks" in occupied territory of Samachablo (the so-called South Ossetia), Georgia.
