 Donbas resident killed by blast while trying to cut through unexploded ordnance. PHOTOS

A resident of Cherkasske village in Sloviansk larger area, born in 1983, was killed in projectile explosion.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the statement by Sloviansk police officials, the law enforcement officers found a body of a man with numerous shrapnel injuries, demolished power tool, and metal fragments scattered throughout his house courtyard.

The parts of the victim’s body were spread all over the yard along with his clothes and shoes.

It was found that the person was killed by an unexploded ordnance (judging by the shrapnel found, it was a cannon artillery or mortar shell) that detonated due to physical impact.

The wife of the deceased said that he brought home three bags of scrap metal and started cutting it into pieces with an angle grinder. Ten minutes later, she heard the explosion that shattered windows in the house. Neither she nor her children who were inside the house were hurt.
