"Prototypes of BTR-82 and BTR-82A were first assembled at Arzamassk motor assembly plant (AMZ) in December, 2009. Production testing completed in winter of 2010, after which the vehicles entered service for the Russian army. In 2011, some units of Russian Federation armed forces Southern military district were re-equipped with BTR-82A. The destroyed APC on the photo most likely comes from there…" Mashovets comments.
