As noted in the publication, the explosion was preceded by several shots similar to a heavy machine gun. Then the sky lit up with a bright flash and there was a loud roar. In the central part of the city numerous car alarms sounded. Expected shootout did not follow. 10-15 minutes later a few shots were made from an automatic weapon.
According to the newspaper, infantry jet flamethrower Smel (Bumblebee) was used to fire the town council from the parking lot. The explosion occurred outside the building on the second floor where the archives are located. A small fire started but was promptly extinguished. The archive remain intact. The building of the town council and the neighbouring houses have many shattered windows.
One soldier of Artemivsk special battalion was lightly wounded. It is likely that the attack was committed by sabotage and intelligence group of the DPR, but this information is not confirmed.
