"The Security Service of Ukraine counterintelligence department officers detained two citizens of Ukraine as part of reconnaissance and sabotage group of main intelligence directorate of the Russian General Staff under the command of Ihor Bezler aka Bes on July 4, 2014 in the Kharkiv region. They seized administrative buildings of state authorities and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, took hostages and were fighting against the Ukrainian servicemen," the press center of the department reported to Censor.NET.
"According to the militants' testimony, their group was formed by representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian General Staff and trained in Russian intelligence military training camp in Crimea, the statement said. The focus of training was given to mastering skills of small arms and sabotage at various infrastructure and life sustaining facilities."
"The group was illegally forwarded by the Russian military intelligence to the territory of Ukraine later through the Rostov region of Russia through the channel, which was controlled by the Russian Federation FSB (the Federal Security Service) border guards", the Security Service of Ukraine claims.
