Censor.NETreports, citing the Security Service of Ukraine press service, thatMykolaiv resident who was part of the group of 50 armed militantswas firing at Ukrainian servicemen who were defending thecheckpoint in Amvrosievskyi district of the Donetskregion.
"Marines managedto repel the fire and apprehend their leader. During the arrest, he(the militant leader) was dressed in an unmarked military uniformand balaclava. He had on him a live RGD-5 grenade, AKS-74, and liveammunition magazines," the press statement of the Security Servicesays.
According to thedetainee, he received arms and ammunition in the building of theSecurity Service of the Donetsk region from the leaders of theself-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.
The court decidedto detain the criminal. Criminal proceedings were initiated inaccordance with articles "Terrorist Act" and "The IllegalCirculation of Weapons".
In May MykolaYakubovych, a former policeman and a centurion of the 28th Hundredof the Maidan Self-Defense who was captured by the terrorists, saidthat kidnappings in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions are handled bythe Russian Orthodox Army which is a breakaway cell of the KharkivOplot organization.
Earlier it wasreported that the Security Service of Ukraine neutralized a groupthat sent mercenaries to Donbas.
