The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone somewhat deteriorated as the Russian -occupation forces shelled the Ukrainian soldiers’ positions with 152-mm artillery, 120-mm and 82-mm mortars in violation of the Minsk cease-fire deal.

Censor.NET reports citing the update by the ATO headquarters press center as of Nov. 21, 2017.

"The enemy fired upon the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions nine times over the past 24-hour period. The enemy attacked the ATO forces' positions along the demarcation line in Luhansk direction seven times. The enemy shelled the defenders of Luhanske on Svitlodarsk salient with 152-mm artillery in daylight. Later in the evening, the Ukrainian soldiers came under the invaders' grenade launcher strike at this section of the contact line. The Russian mercenaries shelled Ukrainian defenses in the vicinity of Novoluhanske and Lozove with 82-mm mortars. The defenders of Krymske were fired upon with small arms while the strongholds near Novoluhanske came under dense fire of IFV-mounted weapons and large-caliber machine guns.

"The pro-Russian armed gangs breached truce twice in Donetsk direction. The enemy shelled the Ukrainian soldiers' positions near Pavlopil with 120-mm mortar and grenade launchers in the afternoon. Subsequently, the illegal armed groups employed infantry weapons against Avdiivka defenders. Despite high-intensity direct fire upon the Ukrainian military at certain sections of the contact line, they suppressed the aggressor's attacks only thrice. No Ukrainian soldier was killed or injured in action yesterday," the situation report reads.
