Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Zaporizhia region Prosecutor's Office.
"The criminal proceedings were launched into the lawmaker's statements on air of a TV show suggesting encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine committed by an official.
"It was established that Balytskyi, who was elected the people's deputy at a Melitopol constituency in the government-controlled Zaporizhia region Nov. 13, 2017, expressed the opinion during the TV show suggesting possibility of seceding the territory of constituency he was elected in," the statement reads.
As reported, Balytskyi made this statement while debating with Dmytro Korchynskyi on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel late Nov. 13.
"I want you, all the members of your faction, all those who support you to leave for the Russian Federation as soon as possible and never come back again," Korchynskyi told the lawmaker.
"Maybe we will leave, or maybe we won't. I mean those constituencies similar to the one I represent, except that we'll take our territories with us. Doesn't this bother you at all?" Balytskyi said in response.
