 Police find weapon employed against Okueva and Osmaev, - MP Herashchenko

The law enforcers investigating the attempt on the lives of volunteer soldiers Amina Okueva and Adam Osmaev found the automatic weapon that was used to attack them.

People's Front faction MP Anton Herashchenko said on air of Priamyi TV channel, Censor.NET reports.

"As for Amina Okueva's murder investigation, the automatic weapon which the car was fired upon with was found in a field last week. The DNA of the person who carried it, the hitman, was found on it. The police and forensics are now examining this DNA. They shall identify the DNA and when we apprehend a suspect we will be able to make comparison to be absolutely confident whether this person is Amina's murderer or not. We know that the group involved in the assassination could have consisted of about four individuals," Herashchenko said.

As reported, Okueva and Osmaev's car was ambushed and fired upon at the railway crossing near Hlevakha village in the Kyiv region Oct. 30. Okueva suffered fatal injuries while Osmaev survived the attack.

Earlier, in the evening of June 1, an attempt was made on the lives of Chechen volunteer fighters of Ukrainian Kyiv-2 unit, Donbas war participants Adam Osmaev and Amina Okueva in Kyiv's Podil district. The attacker passed himself as a foreign journalist who allegedly wanted to interview them, got close to them, opened fire from a gun, and wounded Osmaev. His wife Okueva, to protect herself and repulse the attacker, opened fire and gravely wounded the killer. Both men have been taken to hospital with grave wounds. Osmaev is convicted by Russia of alleged attempt on President Putin.
