 SBU detains Russian mercenary, member of ‘LPR’ terrorist group in Kharkiv region. PHOTOS

In the Kharkiv region, the operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in conjunction with police and the State Border Guard Service detained a Russian mercenary who took part in combat missions against Ukrainian troops as a member of the “Luhansk People’s Republic” (‘LPR’) terrorist organization.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the SBU press center.

The law enforcers established that the 27-year-old resident of Kharkiv served in the ranks of "Triumf" illegal armed group from November 2014 until May 2015. It is noted that being a member of the terrorist group he was involved in military operations against the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces on the territory of the Luhansk region.

The terrorist was detained in the Kharkiv region when he was trying to cross Ukraine-Russia border beyond the border crossing point. The operatives found that the militant came to Kharkiv to visit his relatives.
