Censor.NET reports citing a statement by the press service of the National Guard.
"Major Serhii Syrotenko received fatal injuries as he tripped a landmine (according to preliminary report) while fulfilling a combat mission in the vicinity of Marinka around 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 1. Another professional soldier received a fragmentation wound. He is currently being provided with medical assistance in a healthcare facility," the casualty report reads.
Serhii Syrotenko was called to the colors in February 2015. He signed a contract and joined the National Guard in June 2016. The deceased serviceman was survived by a wife and two children.
