The Interior Ministry plans to stiffen traffic rules in Ukraine to make driving safer.

This was announced by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov during the Cabinet session on Oct. 25, Censor.NET reports citing the government website.

"I am asking that the next session of the government is dedicated exclusively to consideration of the traffic rules and harsher punishment for their violation," Avakov said.

The interior minister added that his agency is offering to amend the legislation governing the sphere.

"We have legislative proposals for the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers. With them, we will launch the system of video recording of traffic rules violations that we've been working on for three months, and other necessary changes," Avakov said.
