 SAP detained Lieutenant General Ihor Pavlovskyi

The name of the deputy defense minister of Ukraine who was detained by Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) has been made public.

He is Lieutenant General Ihor Pavlovskyi, Censor.NET reports.

Lieutenant General Ihor Pavlovskyi is deputy defense minister of Ukraine.

Born Oct. 20, 1964 in Pervomaisk of the Mykolaiv region. In 1988 he graduated from Dalnyevostochnoye military college, in 1997 - Academy of Armed Forces of Ukraine, in 2010 - National Defense University of Ukraine.

Pavlovskyi has been working in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since October 1983.

From October 2010 through July 2012, Pavlovskyi served as a first deputy commander of Pivden Operations Command. From July 2012 through January 2014 he served as a first deputy commander of the 8th army corps of Ground Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From January 2014 through April 2015, Pavlovskyi served as a commander of support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On April 8, 2015, he was appointed deputy defense minister of Ukraine by the Cabinet of Ministers and promoted to lieutenant general on Aug. 23, 2015.

On Oct. 11, 2017 NABU detectives together with SAP prosecutors conducted a number of raids that resulted in detention of two people suspected of embezzlement: deputy defense minister and director of State Procurement and Material Supplies Department.
