The meeting of border guard representatives of Ukraine and the Russian Federation regarding two detained Ukrainian border guards will take place in Bryansk, Russia, where the incident with the kidnapping of the two officers took place. This was announced by aide to the State Border Service head Oleh Slobodian on air of 112 Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
"The meeting will be held in the area where it took place. Only representatives of the State Border Service of Ukraine and Russian FSB will be there. We will discuss how our border guards ended up caught by Russian border guards. We are interested in Russia's position regarding how they see the future of this situation and how they will solve it," Slobodian said.
He said the Ukrainian party is elaborating the major scenarios of what has happened. It is not known where the detainees are at the moment.
On Oct. 3, two officers of Znob-Novhorodske unit of the Sumy border guard service were monitoring a section of the state border, when connection with them was lost at around 8 p.m. Later, Russian media reported of detention by FSB border detachment of two 'violators' who called themselves Sumy unit border guards.
