At noon, the attendees of the event gathered at Melnykova and Dorohozhytska Streets, where in 1941 there was the first check point at the so-called Death Road for Jews.
Babyn Yar is an area in Kyiv where German Nazi occupants executed thousands of Jews, Roma, Soviet activists, and Ukrainian nationalists during the WWII.
The Death Road is the route followed by the first execution victims who were not aware they would be soon shot dead.
In Babyn Yar, the attendees commemorated the victims of the tragedy.
