Head of the Special Investigations Department of PGO Serhii Horbatiuk told Censor.NET.
He said the police officials are suspected of systemic resistance to protests initiated by former president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and top officials of his government. The persons also assisted with drafting Cabinet decrees that allowed illegal used of Russia-made grenades, including against protesters in Kyiv in February 2014, during the Revolution of Dignity. They also were coordinating law enforcers during violence on Feb. 18-19, 2014 in Kyiv with the use of weapons.
One of the suspects was indicted of offering illegal incentives to law enforcement officers with the purpose to motivate them to commit crimes against protesters in Kyiv in 2013-2014.
Horbatiuk added that the decision is being made on whether to put the suspects into custody.
The court will start its hearing at 3 p.m. today.
