Fire intensity in Kalynivka decreased, 4,000 people expect evacuation from town, - Vinnytsia governor

As of the morning Sept. 27, no signs of fire increase at Kalynivka ammunition depot are seen.

This was announced by head of the Vinnytsia regional state administration Valerii Korovii, Censor.NET reports citing Radio Svoboda.

"We see the picture, a quadcopter has been sent out. The intensity of the fire decreased. We are deploying four tanks to enter the area that is the most covered with fire," Korovii said.

The governor told the journalists that 22,000 people were evacuated from Kalynivka and neighboring villages of the Vinnytsia region in the night of Sept. 27.

"Speaking of Kalynivka, about three or four thousands of people remain in their homes, but they are organized and leaving. As of now, no one was killed, two people were traumatized," Korovii said.

As reported, on Sept. 26 at around 10 p.m., State Emergency Service was reported of ammunition explosions in the military depot of the Defense Ministry in Kalynivka village. A Censor.NET source said that the explosions were heard in the village, and ammo was seen flying over the depot. The Kalynivka depot is more than 1,000 ha and packed with ammunition of various types.
