Provision on peacekeepers might be included in draft bill on Donbas reintegration, - Iryna Lutsenko

Presidential envoy in the parliament, deputy head of Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction Iryna Lutsenko says the provision on introduction of the U.N. peacekeepers in the Donbas might be included in the draft bill on reintegration of the region.

Lutsenko told journalists, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

She said she hasn't yet met President Poroshenko so she is not sure whether the draft bill on the Donbas reintegration was discussed during his visit to the United States.

"But I believe that the norms and mechanisms and instruments that have been included in the bill on the Donbas reintegration were discussed with President Trump, and I think with Canada's PM [Justin Trudeau] as well," Lutsenko said.

She said Ukraine's partners were extremely interested in the instruments for the Donbas reintegration.

Lutsenko said that Ukraine's initiative on the Donbas peacekeepers is also a part of the Donbas reintegration process launch.

She reminded this provision has not yet been included in the relevant bill, but it might as well appear after the talks in the United States, Lutsenko said.

On Sept. 7, Poroshenko announced the publication and the start of discussions of the Donbas reintegration bill in the parliament in the near future.
