 EBRD starts selecting companies to construct Lviv waste recycling plant

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced the beginning of the selection of companies to participate in the first phase of the project "Lviv Solid Waste" worth 35 million euros.

"Lviv City Municipality (City) and Lviv Communal Enterprise "Green City" a municipal company in the City of Lviv, have applied for a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank or EBRD) to finance the first phase of the rehabilitation of Hrybovychi landfill and introduction of sorting and composting facilities in Lviv. The proposed project, which has an estimated value of up to EUR 35 million, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services to be financed from the proceeds of the Bandk's loan:
  • Rehabilitation of Hrybovychi landfill;
  • Construction of waste mechanical and biological treatment facilities.
"The tendering for the above contracts is expected to commence in Q4 2017," a statement on EBRD official website reads.

Green City director Vadym Nizdria confirmed to Zaxid.net that the publication of the statement means a start of the selection process of real participants of the project.

He said a dozen of international companies who wish to participate in Lviv waste recycling plant construction have addressed him since the announcement publication, including companies from Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
