The government of Ukraine is doing its best to speed up the introduction of the peacemaking mission in the Donbas.

This was announced by Petro Poroshenko Bloc (PPB) faction leader Artur Herasymov on air of Era radio, Censor.NET reports citing PPB press service.

"Several options are currently on the table. The first one is the format proposed by the president of Ukraine and voiced during the General Assembly. Another format of introducing peacekeepers under OSCE is discussed as well. And the introduction of peacekeepers under police mission from Europe.

"Time will show which format is faster and more efficient. But I want to reassure you that the president of Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry, the Ukrainian diplomats and Ukrainian parliament members - we are all doing our best to make this happen faster. We all realize that as soon as this is done, the situation will change for better. Currently, as soon as the OSCE's SMM which is now in the Donbas arrives at any area, the shelling, the violations of the cease-fire, the hostile activities by the terrorists either stop or decrease. This is why the president of Ukraine insists that the mission does not operate from 9 to 6 but stays at the line all the time," Herasymov said.

The head of the BPP faction said that representatives of Russia, the aggressor country, can not participate in the peacekeeping mission in the Donbas: "When we talk about peacekeepers, there really is a problem connected with the fact that Russia is a member of the U.N. Security Council, but this does not concern the situation in Ukraine This is true regarding the internal situation of the United Nations, which still needs reform. But that Russia, the aggressor country, can be an aggressor and a peacemaker at the same time, it will not happen... Despite Russia's efforts, the sanctions remain and will be extended, which is right. As the only source for the aggressor country to get rid of sanctions is to withdraw its troops from the occupied territory and liberate the Ukrainian territory," Herasymov said.
