 Allocations for military equipment, weapons increased tenfold, - Poroshenko

The 2017 budget provides for 64.5 billion hryvnias ($2.517 billion) for the needs of the Ukrainian army.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the opening of the exhibition of weapons and military equipment in Kyiv, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.

"The allocation of funds for the purchase of military equipment and weapons has increased tenfold compared to 2013. While in the state of war, we found this money. 1.6 billion hryvnias ($62.46 million) will be spent to purchase and update the latest weapons and military equipment, while another 1.4 billion ($54.65 million) are meant for the construction of an ammunition plant using the latest technologies. The 2017 budget provides for the allocation of 64.5 billion hryvnias for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," said the president.
