This was announced by Defense Ministry representative Maksym Prauta during a briefing on Friday in Ukraine Crisis Media Center, Censor.NET reports citing MoD press service.
"Since the beginning of the year, more than 17,000 people, including 1,200 officers, have signed contracts with the army. A total number of contract fighters in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is more than 120,000 people," he said.
Prauta added that the operational reserve of the military of military draftees of first priority created since the beginning of the military reform enlists almost 130,000 persons.
The MoD representative added that 2,836 families and retired military received housing aid from the Ministry in 2015-2016. 635 families opted for monetary compensation.
