Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman announced during a video conference on preparations to the heating season during his trip to the Mykolaiv region, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"We have been living without a single drop of Russian gas for more than 600 days; we are conducting a large-scale modernization of energy system, increasing own gas recovery, and we have some positive dynamics," Hroisman said.
The prime minister stressed it's important not only to substitute imported gas but also take energy efficient measures aimed at decreasing consumption of energy resources and increasing of quality of services provided through fuel and energy sector.
As reported, Ukraine halted gas imports from Russia on Nov. 25, 2015.
