Censor.NET correspondent reports.
Shabunin left the building of Dniprovske police precinct in Kyiv at 10:15 a.m. Aug. 16.
Shabunin said the prosecutor's office has changed the qualification of the case since yesterday. He is now suspected under part 1 art. 122 - an assault of medium gravity. Earlier, Shabunin says, they were going to charge him under part 2 art. 345-1 - "threatening of violence against journalist".
Under article 122, Shabunin is faced with up to three years in prison.
Prosecutor's office says it will ask for personal recognizance for Shabunin.
Yesterday, the head of the Anti-Corruption Action Center was informed that he would be charged with a beating of a journalist, which is punished by up to five years in prison. Shabunin insists that Vsevolod Fylymonenko, whom he allegedly hit, is not a journalist and provoked Shabunin.
In the morning of the indictment, Aug. 16, activists and journalists came to support Shabunin.
The hearing to choose the measure of restraint for Shabunin will take place Aug. 16 afternoon.
