36 military from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 12 representatives of the National Guard of Ukraine who defend Ukraine from the Russian invader will be awarded. Two of them - posthumously - marine Mykhailo Kobets and warrant officer Ihor Drobot.

Kobets was killed on June 3, 2017, as his position came under artillery shelling by the enemy.

"For valor" decoration was awarded to senior soldier Serhii Kolesnyk from the 456th Brigade of transport aviation of Air Force of Ukraine's Armed Forces.

On June 2017, Kolesnyk was watching the enemy from his position and noticed a group of terrorists approaching the strong point. Kolesnyk reacted quickly and opened fire upon the enemy, forcing it to retreat. Following the skirmish, the adversary opened massive mortar fire upon the Ukrainian position, wounding Kolesnyk in his neck. Kolesnyk's comrades managed to save him. They offered him first aid and evacuated to Avdiivka hospital.
