"Another reason for grief in the Lviv region. On Aug. 7, 2017, in Marinka area, Donbas Battalion fighter Volodymyr Zeilyk was killed. Three weeks ago the guy turned 21...," Barvinska wrote.
"Pustomyty in the Lviv region has announced mourning days from Aug. 9 through 11. The body of the fighter is currently in Dnipro, at forensic expertise. No exact information about funeral so far," she reported.
Zeilyk was born on July 14, 1996 in Pustomyty, the Lviv region. He graduated from the city school and never had a chance to go to college. In October 2014, when he turned 18, Volodymyr was drafted to military service. He served in the Lviv region, in the 540th anti-aircraft missile regiment. After his service term ended, Zeilyk signed a military contract and went to serve in the Donbas Battalion as a driver.
Zeilyk is survived by his parents and younger brother.
"That's all he had in his life - the school and the war... Glory to the hero, and condolences to the family," Barvinska wrote.
